July 4th is a public holiday in the United States that commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4,1776, declaring the original colonies free form British rule.
As we celebrate with fireworks, family reunions, picnics, barbecues, concerts, parades, various activities and ceremonies let’s remember …THE SACRIFICES MADE FROM SLAVERY TO FREEDOM.
LET US continue to PRAY and be GRATEFUL for the FREEDOMS we enjoy as AMERICANS.
Join us on Saturday, July 26th from 4:00pm-5:00pm, I will be the subject of the Legacy Series and share my stories of my journey from East Nashville to Historic Jefferson Street.
Step back in time and tour the Museum. Listen and learn about the artists that performed on Historic Jefferson Street from Jimi Hendrix, Etta James, James Brown, Little Richard, Peggy Gaines, Jimmy Church, Frank Howard Jackie Shane, Ike and Tina Turner and more.
For those of you celebrating your birthday this month, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Please come and tour the Museum as we continue to ensure that our history, our sound and our culture is visible and thriving.
Many Blessings,
Lorenzo Washington, JSSM Founder and Curator
